SERVICING & DSB
Mercedes Benz Digital Service Book (DSB)
The Mercedes Digital Service Booklet was introduced in 2008 for all Mercedes Benz model series and is also available for Mercedes Vans from October 2012 onwards.
The Mercedes Digital Service Booklet (DSB) was introduced as a more secure way to document servicing and car maintenance work carried out on your vehicle. The Digital Service Book clearly lists all car-servicing jobs carried out on your Mercedes Benz, and therefore replaces the need for a printed service manual (although we are still happy to stamp your book if you have one)
Mercedes Benz Gearbox Servicing
A gearbox service is carried out every 5 years or 36000 – 40000 mls, on CVT, 5 or 7 or 9 speed automatic gearboxes as fitted to all Mercedes Benz passenger cars.
We would also recommend a gearbox service if you recently bought a second hand Mercedes Benz passenger car and you are unsure of the service history. It is for your peace of mind and for a long reliable gearbox life.
The service consists draining the gearbox oil, and removal of the gearbox sump pan. We then change the gearbox oil filter(s). We then fit the sump pan with a new gasket, sump plug washer and replenish with fresh transmission oil. On the 9 speed gearbox the transmission sump also requires replacing, as the filter is incorporated into it.
On the 7 or 9 speed the Mercedes Benz STAR diagnostic machine is used to carry out correct oil level checking and a specialist tool is used on the 5 speed.
Mercedes Benz & Smart Car Engine Servicing
All our Servicing DOES NOT affect or invalidate your Mercedes Benz Warranty. All servicing parts, fitted and fluids used are genuine Mercedes Benz parts or certified parts that are approved by Mercedes-Benz to ensure any warranty is always covered where it should be. We only use the correct oils' for Mercedes Benz engines to ensure the best quality servicing.
The servicing of your vehicle is the most important and effective way of ensuring its reliability. We offer all the Mercedes-Benz servicing requirements, from a basic A or B service through to additional options such as transmission fluid and filter, brake fluid replacement for ABS and SBC braking systems, transmitter key battery replacement and any other specific requirements your model may need.
Many Mercedes-Benz vehicles are equipped with Service ASSYST. This is a variable service schedule alternating from A to B service.
A being a minor lubrication routine service, and B being a larger major routine service. A service indicator will appear on your display approximately one month or 600 miles before a service is due. Services are normally due between 9,000 and 18,500 miles or between 12 to 24 months, depending on driving style.
